Today was our day off, thank God! I waited for this day for so long and it was much deserved. I spent the morning at Wangfujing shopping district with Lauren, Ngaio and Niav, just looking around at the Olympic store and people watching.
We had the perfect morning and just as we decided we’d had enough the skies opened up and it started pouring down. Luckily we grabbed a taxi before our shopping was ruined.
Our local Red Lantern was the call for lunch and we filled up on a feast of peking duck, rice and broccoli for $4. Crazy.
Then when I didn’t think I could eat anymore, Liz and Amanda invited me out for dinner and since I hadn’t seen them in what felt like years I decided, heck, I can eat some more. We ventured out to a place called “the Olive” in Sanlutan and it was the most amazing feast I’ve had since I’ve been here. It was all Mediterranean and we had two entrees, a main each and desert aaaand a bottle of white wine (so hard to find here) for $30 each. I love china, I can eat like a queen, shop like a queen and hardly spend a cent. After dinner we decided that manicure was the go, so we visited Sheela again to relax with some flower tea and have a bit of girly time.
