Today is the last day off I will have for a while, unfortunately. So I spent the first half of the morning recovering from the night before. The rest of the morning we decided to venture out to Yashow markets to have a look at some of the wares – clothes, shoes, bags, dvds and anything else you can think of really. I didn’t really buy much so I was quite proud of myself. I think I’ve bought enough already!
For dinner we went to the Goose and Duck, a sports bar a bit closer to the city, to watch the Aussies V the Kiwis in the rugby. However, on the way there I had the weirdest taxi experience yet. We had pulled up at a set of lights and we could tell our taxi driver really didn’t know where he was going, but without saying anything he opened the door and got out of the car and started walking away. Me and the guys in the cab looked at each other petrified as we had no idea what he was doing, or what we were going to do in a cab without a driver. Luckily, though, we turned around and he was talking to the cab driver behind us to find out where to go. Must say that scared the shit out of me.
When we finally got there in one piece, the G&D had awesome chips and cheap beer, and even better, the Aussies won. We all sang Waltzing Matilda at the end and the entire pub stared at the freaky white people belting out this tune. Unfortunately I was stuffed from the night before, and had to work the next day, so I decided to bail early.
