Day 23: Hanging for a Feed

Friday 1st August, 2008!

Today we came to work and finished going through the remaining weight categories before lining up for lunch at about 11am (yes, they eat like nannas here) for approximately an hour and a half. Then just so we didn’t feel like we’d wasted the entire day we did a flash quote mixed zone run through, which ended up being crap because we had to get a translator to go from Russian to Chinese, then Chinese to English and by the time it got through ‘telephone’ was changed to ‘fax’ in Chinese and then ‘email’ in English. So just a bit of meaning was lost along the way. Hope things improve.

For dinner it was Sarah’s birthday so we all went to the Hard Rock CafĂ© for a bit of a night out.
Unfortunately the prices were extortionate so some people were not happy, but I guess that happens.
Apparently it is also a tradition to put cake in the face of the birthday boy/girl in China, so when Sarah's cake came out a man served it to her and then pushed her face into it! Luckily she was a good sport!
